Bollywood actor and politician Govinda was injured when a bullet was accidentally fired from his revolver. He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable and out of danger.
According to Indian media reports, a senior official from the Mumbai Police stated that Govinda was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after the incident. The actor’s manager, Shashi Sinha, told the news agency ANI that Govinda was preparing to travel to Kolkata for an event. He always carries his licensed weapon with him, and while cleaning the pistol before packing it, the gun accidentally fired, hitting him in the leg.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital near his home in Juhu, Mumbai. Doctors performed surgery to remove the bullet, and he is now recovering. The police are expected to record Govinda’s statement about what happened soon. They will also take a statement from his wife, who was not with him at the time of the accident but has since returned to Mumbai from Kolkata.
Govinda is one of India’s most well-known actors, especially popular in the 1990s with hits like Hero No. 1, Dulhe Raja, Jodi No. 1, Coolie No. 1, Big Mian Chhote Mian, and Raja Babu.
