Bollywood star Ajay Devgn recently shared a heartfelt story about an emotional incident between Indian lyricist Anand Bakshi and legendary Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. This story dates back to the 1990’s when the two were set to work together on Bollywood music.
According to Ajay Devgn, both artists had agreed to rehearse, but Anand Bakshi didn’t attend for several days. Despite this, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan patiently waited. After a few days, he decided to visit Anand Bakshi at his home, even though he faced mobility issues due to his health.
With the help of four assistants, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan climbed the stairs to Anand Bakshi’s first-floor apartment. When Anand Bakshi saw this from his window, he was filled with guilt and immediately apologized. He admitted that his ego had kept him from attending the rehearsals and was deeply moved that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan made such an effort to meet him.
Anand Bakshi promised to be punctual from then on, and the two went on to create some unforgettable songs together. Ajay Devgn shared this story to highlight the humility of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and the deep respect between the two legends, which led to a successful collaboration in Bollywood.
