Lots of things come to mind when Lauren German’s name is mentioned. For some, it is talent in its purest form, and for others, it is the cold that accompanies some of his films, notably Dead Above Ground (2002).

The actress has enjoyed great success thanks to her roles in the popular television series, 7th Series. Although many people have come to know her onscreen and as an actress, there is still a lot of unknowns about her.

Lauren German Biography

Getting to know her better, Lauren German was born on November 29, 1978, in Madison, Connecticut. Her birth name was Lauren Christine German.

Family

Although very little is known about her family, she has revealed that her father is a vascular surgeon. Her paternal grandfather, James German, was Dutch; Born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 1909, James immigrated to the United States with his family as a child. The rest of his ancestry is English.

Education

For her education, the actress started at Los Alamitos High School before later moving to Orange County High School of the Arts. After leaving high school, Lauren went to the University of Southern California, where she surprisingly studied anthropology.

However, to improve her craft, she continued to attend the Actor’s Studio after graduating from college. More so, when she was at Orange County High School, German also trained as a dancer.

Debut Year

Shortly after, the Californian began to take the stage before moving to the big screen. His first role on stage was in “Peter Pan” and “Oliver”. It was in 2000 that she made her film debut in Until You although she only played a small role.

Lauren German also played a role on television before Down to You, in Undressed which aired in 1999.

Then she took part in 7th Heaven in 2001, which was a big success, and the start of her breakthrough. One of her biggest roles was in 2003 when she took part in the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Many people can associate it with playing the role of a lesbian and participating in horror movies such as Hostel: Part II.

Award & Nomination

Over the years, the German has appeared in more than 30 films and TV shows. For all of these reasons, she was nominated for the People’s Choice Awards for Favorite TV Character Miss You Already in 2015, for her role in Chicago Fire.

Her most recent activity is on the Fox TV show, Lucifer which has been on duty since 2016. The actress stars as Detective Chloe Decker with Tom Ellis who stars as Lucifer Morningstar.

Lauren German makes a name for herself in the Lucifer series.

Her role as Chloe Decker, leading female role in the Lucifer series, brought her notoriety in 2016. She played a homicide detective there who worked in Los Angeles as a member of the Police Department.

She forms an unusual duo with Tom Ellis, who fascinates her but who is impervious to her charms. Together, they solve many mysteries. Fox stopped the series in 2018, but Netflix saves it.

The season 5 Lucifer begins in August 2020 and a 6th season is in preparation.
